One Direction will soon be celebrating their sixth year as a band and Directioners, of course, have a plan to celebrate.
The fans behind @UpdateOneD5 have come up with a thoughtful idea to honour the boys on this milestone and decided to host a fundraiser for the charity, UNICEF, which aims to care for the millions of children who are suffering and dying unnecessarily and face violence, disease, hunger, and the chaos of war and disaster.
Speaking about the project, Directioner and organiser, Lucie, said:
“We decided to organise this fundraising after Liam teamed up with Andy Murray, Clare Balding and Jack Whitehall to form a tennis team for UNICEF Children summer disease appeal.”
Louis and Niall also supported UNICEF when they took part in Soccer Aid, another reason why the Directioners chose this important charity.
Explaining the project further, Lucie said: “We all know that Directioners can do amazing things and engage themselves in very helpful projects. UNICEF works to create a world in which every child has a fair chance in life. Directioners can help UNICEF with this fundraising and by helping children it is also helping our future to get better for all.”
