So, the rumour mill is off again and this time it’s that 1D had to give away free tickets to their US tour dates. U wot m8?
Rumour has it that our fave boyband have been offering a ‘buy one get one free’ promotion for the US leg of their tour. Surely not?
Despite the fact that loads of OTRA tour dates have sold out, it has been reported that the boys have been giving away free tickets to shows in San Francisco.
The lads kick off the US leg of OTRA next month in San Diego and apparently there’s tickets for sale as low as $31.79. So, selling lower price tickets CLEARLY means the end of the road, right? Pffft. Yeah, right.
The lads are being sponsored by Honda for the US leg of the tour and this is what their website says:
‘One Direction and HONDA CIVIC TOUR are offering a special ticket promotion whereby all fans can ‘Buy 2 Tickets and Get 2,’ getting 50% off a purchase of four tickets.
“Be sure to use promo code 1DCIVIC. Ticketing information and additional details can be accessed via HondaCivicTour.com.
“Discount applies to multiples of four (4) tickets, up to eight (8).’
So there’s the rumour that they’re “BEING FORCED” to give away tickets or the possibility of part of the contract with Honda is keeping back tickets for Honda to be able to offer this great deal for American fans. Good idea, but where was it when we bought our tickets to see the lads in Cardiff?!
So, there you have it. Rumours indicate that the boys are not as popular as before because they’re offering fans a deal with Honda on tickets. Rumours also have indicated stuff like Zayn coming back to the band and the boys are breaking up end of the year, but both have been denied. When will people learn, eh?
What do you reckon? Are you getting the BOGOF deal? Fancy offerig us the free ticket? Let’s chat on Twitter @maximumpop
