One Direction might be on hiatus but they’re still saving lives

This is an extraordinary story that’ll you never have heard of before. One Direction save lives, but this is a whole other ball game.

Matthew Stride had been suffering with fainting episodes whilst playing football, so naturally he went to the doctor to find out what was up. He had countless scans and they discovered he had a brain tumour the size of a tennis ball.

He was booked in for a seven hour operation and was to be woken during surgery to check his motor skills.

They asked Matthew what music he’d like to listen to and he was really into One Direction (we hope he still is!), so they played them whilst performing surgery. No big deal.

Unfortunately Matthew’s brain tumour is cancerous and incurable. He’s had 33 rounds of chemo but still plans on running the Birmingham Half Marathon and London Marathon. We truly wish him the best of luck and jogging along to One Direction will deffo make the marathons easier.
