Not only is Olly Murs a charmer and incredibly talented guy, but he has a heart of gold. When he’s not in the studio or touring, you can find him doing good deeds. Here are some of our favourite charitable acts by the cheeky chap.
1. He hangs out with the kids from Rays of Sunshine
Ever since he became an ambassador in 2012, Olly has granted countless amounts of wishes for the kids of Rays of Sunshine, who grant wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses.
2. He trekked across Kenya for Comic Relief
Olly along with other famous faces including Dermot O’Leary, Scott Mills and Lorraine Kelly, trekked 100km across Kenya for the charity Comic Relief and raised a heck of a lot of money for the cause. Good job, Murs!
3. He’s flogging his tour jacket on eBay for Brainwave
Olly has put his jacket from his 2015 tour for auction on eBay to help raise money for the charity Brainwave, which he is a patron of. He just keeps on giving, doesn’t he?
4. He plays regularly for Soccer Aid
While Olly may be used to play semi-professional as a footballer before his musical days, he still keeps his foot in the door by playing annually at Soccer Aid for Unicef, and this year is no different! You can catch him plus Louis Tomlinson at Old Trafford on 5th June.
5. Performed in Band Aid 30
Murs joined One Direction, Ed Sheeran and co as they recorded the Band Aid 30 track ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ for the Ebola Crisis Appeal and he sounded amazing!
