On Saturday our fave little Leprechaun raised over 300,000 big ones at his very own Charity Football Challenge. Hazza, the big Payno and the king of sass himself, Louis Tomlinson, graced the pitch – while Niall took the rather important role of manager. It’s safe to say the sight of the boys in full football attire was most definitely one for sore eyes – swoon! (The thought makes us feel slightly faint!)
The match was held at The King Power Stadium in order to raise money for Irish Autism Action which is based in Nialler’s home town of Mullingar, as well as UK based Heart and Minds Challenge and the Leicester Foxes Foundation. We think this boy may actually have a heart made of gold. Actual gold.
‘Team Niall’ included our 1D boys, minus Zayn – boo! (We presume he had legit pre-made plans, it must get pretty hectic looking that pretty all the time?) It’s fine Zayn we forgive you! Fitty funny-man Jack Whitehall also joined in the ball chasing antics, as well as Olly Murs – not a line-up to be sniffed at! (Although we’re pretty certain they probs all smell heavenly – maybe not so much after running around though…)
‘Team Niall’ looking pretty good:
‘Team Piers’ were the rivals – consisting of P. Dawg himself – (Piers Morgan) as well as players, Shayne Ward and Piers’ son spencer. The first goal was bagged by Robert Pires, sending ‘Team Piers’ into an early 1- 0 lead in the first half of the game – pffft. Good old Hazza showed us what he was made of though and scored a tasty goal at the final minute – sneaky Styles, we like it.
Sadly, Nialler’s team lost the nail-biting penalty shoot-out, but it’s all good, there’s no room for bitterness here – Niall and the boys are always winners in our eyes. The little cupcake did a lap of honour and thanked everyone for coming to support the charity football challenge; he even said he’s looking forward to making it bigger and better next year. Oooh well we certainly look forward to it – and next time get yer knees out as well Niall!
