So, we all know Ed Sheeran is currently off on his extended break following the success of his massive second album ‘x’ and ridiculously successful world tour which saw him sell out THREE consecutive nights at Wembley Stadium.
But it looks like Ed may be back with us sooner than we thought. Try to stay calm.
Back in December, Ed announced that he was taking a break from social media by posting a message on his Instagram page.
Things have generally been pretty quiet with Ed until a few weeks ago, when Ed was spotted vacationing in Nigeria with fellow artist Fuse ODG, where he’s also thought to be recording new music with Fuse.
Now, it seems like new music is even closer than ever. There are new reports that suggest that Ed could release his new album as early as September. Ed even spoke to Billboard about potentially having to go up against Adele at the Grammys next year as they’ll both be within the nominations window.
“Adele is releasing her album in the same Grammy category. I don’t know if I’m brave enough to go up against her.”
Imagine two heavyweights like Adele and Ed Sheeran going up for Album of the Year at the Grammys…
Although Glastonbury has just finished, organisers have already begun planning for next year’s festivities and it seems Ed Sheeran might be the latest pop star to headline the Pyramid Stage. According to The Sun, discussions have begun for Ed to headline Glastonbury in 2017.
Speaking to the Press Association last October, Ed said:
“The next festival I do will be headlining Glastonbury, but it just won’t be [in 2016]. I want to be able to have at least three or four albums before I do it.”
Ed’s next album will be his third studio album. If it is released in September, that will give fans plenty of time to learn all the lyrics and get their tickets. We’ve got our fingers crossed for you.
