Chart round up: Neon Jungle, The Vamps and Clean Bandit storm the top 5 in tense chart battle!

Here at Maximum Pop! we love a good chart-off, and The Vamps, Neon Jungle and Clean Bandit have been battling it out all week in one of the most nail biting chart battles we’ve seen in a while.  In the end Neon Jungle ‘s ‘Braveheart’ stormed in at number 4, The Vamp’s ‘Wild Heart’ entered at number 3 and Clean Bandit clinched the top spot with sales of over 160,000 copies, making it the fastest selling number 1 of 2014 so far. Pharrell’s massive hit ‘Happy’ and Pitbull and Ke$ha’s ‘Timber’ rounded out the rest of the pop-tastic top 5.

Meanwhile in the album charts, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Sophie Ellis Bextor scored the highest new entry of the week with new album ‘Wanderlust’ coming in at number 4, whilst Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon Days made a welcome return to the number 1 spot. Hurrah!
