“Cute, lighthearted, thought-provoking” – MP!er Anthea reviews ‘My Life Next Door’

Cuddle up with a good book and read yourself in love! Check out what MP!er Anthea thought of ‘My Life Next Door’ by Huntley Fitzpatrick.

Name: Anthea Patsalos

Have you read anything by Huntley Fitzpatrick before? If not, are you more likely to now?/ If you have, how does this compare? I’ve never read anything by Huntley Fitzpatrick before, but after reading ‘My Life Next Door’ I would love to pick up some more of her work. Her writing style is captivating, and I really enjoyed the story.

Can you describe ‘My Life Next Door’ in 3 words? Cute, lighthearted, thought-provoking!

Which member of the Garrett family was your favourite? With so many to choose from, it’s a hard choice! George. Definitely George. I really loved George. If I had a son, I would want him to be like George!

Take a moment to gush/rant about Samantha and Jase’s relationship. I didn’t overly like their relationship, I thought it was a little rushed and I didn’t really get a chance to ‘ship’ them as a couple. I kind of wanted Samantha and Tim to get together (gasp!) but since that didn’t/isn’t happening I’ll have to like Jase and Samantha. I loved Jase, she’s so lucky to have him, he’s such a sweetheart. And honestly, I would have loved to see a bit more of their relationship, I would have liked it to have a few more problems. I loved the pain and heartbreak they went through towards the end, and I kind of wanted to see more of that. A more raw type of love. I like that.

We love Huntley’s writing! Can you remember your favourite line or scene? Oh man! I knew I should have written them down! I remember definitely laughing out loud at some lines, I think they were almost all said by Tim. He’s funny!

Rate out of 10.  Probably 6/10. I liked it, but I wanted more pain and heartbreak and drama.
