MP! Top Ten: The Results. 5SOS vs. 5H – who won the chart battle?

You’ve been voting for the MP! Top Ten all week and now’s the time for the results. Let’s see what’s been happening on the official MP! chart this week.

Here are the casualties and near misses:

  • CASULATY: Imani Williams feat. Sigala and Blonde – ‘Don’t Need No Money’
  • NEAR MISS: Sia feat. Kendrick Lamar – ‘The Greatest’
  • NEAR MISS: Zara Larsson – ‘Ain’t My Fault’

If you want us to bring back a track next week you can tweet us your selections @maximumpop using the hashtag #MPTopTen. Now let’s get into the top ten!

▶️10) Charlie Puth feat. Selena Gomez – ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’

This smooth duo occupy the No.1 spot for another week.

🔽 9) Ariana Grande feat. Nicki Minaj – ‘Side to Side’

After climbing for a few weeks Ari and Nicki drop back down three.

🔽 8) The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey – ‘Closer’

They fought hard but it’s down one for this banger.

🔽 7) Snakehips feat. Zayn – ‘Cruel’

It is a cruel world after all. Zayn is down four spots.

 🔼 6) Shawn Mendes – ‘Don’t Be a Fool’

After debuting at number eight last week, Shawn’s up two.

🔽 5)  Little Mix feat. Sean Paul – ‘Hair’

It’s all change at the top. After taking an early lead, Little Mix are denied an eight non-consecutive week at number one, instead slipping down four places.

🔽 4) Jacob Whitesides – ‘Focus’

Back down two for Jacob, despite scoring his highest vote tally to date.

 🔼 3) Maria Hazell – ‘Debut’

DAMN GIRL! After making a strong debut at number four last week, newcomer Maria has gone from strength to strength, racking up over a thousand votes. You go, Maria!

🚨 2) Fifth Harmony – ‘That’s My Girl’

Here come the Harmonizers! 5H were locked in an intense chart battle for most of the week and for a while it looked like they would triumph. Unfortunately they were just pipped to the post. There’s always next week.

🔼 15 Seconds of Summer – ‘Girls Talk Boys’

So that means it’s up four spaces for 5SOS. They claim their first MP! Top Ten number one EVER! Not only that, but they also claim the highest tally of votes in one week with over 1.7k. AMAZING!

CONGRATS 5SOS! We’d love to hear why you think they deserved to be crowned the kings of the MP! Top Ten this week. Tweet us @maximumpop.
