Last week we had the wonderful Morgan Matson take over @maximumpopbooks! Her latest, ‘The Unexpected Everything’, is about Andie who’s summer internship falls through and she’s left with an open summer. Everything that follows is not the normal Andie, and yet she feels more herself than she has for a long time.
Morgan’s readers had a whole bunch of questions and we’ve got a few of the best right here so you can catch up.
Morgan started us off with a selfie, ‘cos why not?!

Jordan jumped in with the big question:
@Bibliophile012 I'd like to think ALL of them! ☺️☺️

On the writing process:
@sne_k Probably SYBG – and it was both! It was harder in revisions, since my editor kept pushing me to make it LESS like life

@Bibliophile012 "you can't edit a blank page" – meaning that it's better to write something, even if it's bad, and just get the words down

Morgan has excellent taste in YA. Obvs.
@powisamy I LOVE fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen

And TV shows apparently…
@Bibliophile012 Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, on Netflix…is that out in the UK?? The second season was AMAZING

A question of genre:
@allthingstine Right now sticking to contemporary…but there's a bit of a fantasy novel mixed into my new book, The Unexpected Everything!
— Maximum Pop! Books (@maximumpopbooks) May 17, 2016
These boys are getting a lotta love!
@_EverlarkPotter Maybe Collins from SYBG, or Clark from The Unexpected Everything!!
— Maximum Pop! Books (@maximumpopbooks) May 17, 2016
Man, we LOVE IT when authors do this!
@stilesromantics Not a true sequel -but characters from SYBG make cameos in The Unexpected Everything! I love doing little cameos like this!

Don’t even remind us of that… *sniffs back tears*
@sardaythien YES. GAH. I kind of think an emotional scene isn't working unless it makes me cry! pic.twitter.com/u7rYBtl6fK
