Say hello to the most inspiring song you’ve ever heard and the follow up to one of the biggest hits of 2016

Have you ever felt you needed to pretend to be someone different?

😖 😖 😖 😖

Have you ever felt like the essence of you was slipping away?

😰 😰 😰 😰

Have you ever felt completely alone?

😭 😭 😭 😭

The answer to all three of these has almost definitely been a resounding YES for most people at some point or another, but we find ways to get through.

We at Maximum Pop! believe in the healing powers of music. We think of it as a form of group therapy with music fans coming together from many different backgrounds over a beautiful song. And that’s what we have here.

Mike Posner has just released the follow up to one of the biggest hits of the year ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ and its tear-inducingly heartwarming in its sincere message of self-acceptance. ‘Be As You Are’ has already got more than 13 million Spotify plays so it’s clear that you are all connecting with the song on a deeply personal level.

See what you think. You’d have to have a heart of stone not to be moved.

The fact is that Mike is definitely doing what Simon Cowell wants all his ‘X Factor’ hopefuls to do, which is to sing from the heart. He went through a dark period after his first hit and he sums up his mother’s advice perfectly in ‘Be As You Are’:

“There are moments when you fall to the ground. But you are stronger than you feel you are now. You don’t always have to speak so loud, no just be as you are.”

So do you think ‘Be As You Are’ will be as big a hit as ‘Ibiza’. Did you feel inspired by his lyrics? Tweet us @maximumpop to let us know your thoughts.

Now head of all things content, David takes being a music fanboy to a whole new level, and can often be found dancing like there's nobody watching to 'Shout Out To My Ex', obsessing over Lauren Jauregui and defending Taylor Swift's honour.

David once appeared on TV in Armenia. Apparently, "it was awesome".
