Big Interview: MP! caught up with Mandy Jiroux about chowing down on a Scotch egg & other important pop star things…

Recently we introduced to you Mandy Jiroux. We’ve had a chinwag with her to get all the goss on really important things like English accents and the best presents to give her so she becomes your BFF.

Trying to start your own career can be very intimidating, how do you deal with this aspect?
I was ready to start my own thing when I left BG5. It’s all about believing in yourself first and the rest will follow.

What keeps you going and who are your biggest influences and idols?
What keeps me going are my fans, family, and friends. They are always there to lift me up when I’m down and they’re constant support means the world to me. My biggest influences and idols would be Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake. Not only are they incredible musicians, but I’ve always looked up to the way they perform, dance, & entertain a crowd.

You’ve teamed up with massive YouTube sensations; in what ways has social media influenced your career until now?
Social media has definitely inspired some ideas as far as my career goes. I’m constantly finding new music and other artists that I love. Social media has always been a great way for people to really connect with me and what I’m doing as well.

What are your goals and aspirations for the future? Where do you see yourself in a year or two from now?
My goal is to really get more music out there and it’s definitely on its way. I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on! I see myself touring and performing around the world!

You also do amazing choreography, what are your favourite songs to dance around your room to while getting ready?
Right now I have a few songs on repeat! “Dangerous” by Big Data, “Cut Her Off” by K Camp, and “Keep Our Love Alive” by Afrojack ft. Matthew Koma.

We had a little look on your Twitter and you’ve certainly been up to some exciting stuff! You commented on our different spelling here, is there a difference between your fans here and in America? I don’t think there’s a difference between my fans in the UK and the US other than their amazing British accents. :)

Have you had a chance to explore the UK yet? We’ve got some fab things… have you had one of our delicacy’s a Scotch egg?
Oh yes, I love the UK! I actually had the opportunity to tour the UK for 6 weeks when I was in my old girl group BG5 and fell in love. Never had a Scotch egg, but I guess I’ll definitely try it when I go back for Fashion Week this year.

What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever given you?
I can’t really think of a weird thing that a fan has given me, but it’s definitely a favorite of mine when they make me jewellery. I always wear it!

Put your iTunes on shuffle, what’s the first 5 songs and artists that come up?
Arctic Monkeys, The Neighbourhood, Zedd, Pharrell Williams, & Justin Timberlake

So there you go MP!er’s everything you could possibly want to know about the gorgeous Mandy Jiroux.

Handling emotions and adult stuff like Jess Day and Nick Miller do.
I'm a bit awkward but really nice. I have a turtle called Turtle and I believe in the "You should take a nap every day".
