5 ghoulishly gorgeous products for a bloodcurdling Halloween bath

Now it’s October, it means you can officially inject some Halloween into *everything* you do.  And when we say everything, we mean EVERYTHING – including bath time.  YASSSSSS.

You’re probably wondering where the heck you’re going to find Halloween-themed bath products which actually look AND smell amazing, but the answer’s simple – LUSH (obv).

With so many devilishly delicious Halloween products on offer, you’ll probably struggle to choose. So, to help you out, we reviewed five of Lush’s most popular Halloween products. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it.

1. Lord of Misrule Shower Gel

Yep, IT’S BACK, AND IT’S BETTER THAN EVER.

This herbtastic product was a fave amongst Lush worshippers last year, and it’s easy to see why. Infused with peppercorn and vanilla scents, Lord of Mirsule plays with your senses in the best possible kind of way. Its spicy yet sweet scent really reminded us of Thierry Mugler’s ‘Angel’ perfume – and that’s a winner by anyone’s standards!

While most coloured bath products seem to vanish into a colourless vacuum as soon as they leave their packaging, Lord of Misrule keeps its goopy green colour. What you see inside the packaging is what you get – and we’re talking paint yourself to look like the actual Incredible Hulk green.

After using this, we couldn’t help but get everybody we came across to give us a sniff. It’s a really addictive smell, and you’ll dread the day the bottle runs dry.

2. Boo! Bath Melt

This was probably the cutest product in our little box of goodies. In fact, he’s so cute,  we really didn’t want him to put him to use and make him literally vanish. This gorgeous little meringue-shaped ghost might be one of the smallest products in the range, but don’t be fooled – he doesn’t half make you smell and feel amazing.

We’d argue that the bath melt is the bath bomb’s less wacky cousin. The premise is the same – you drop one into your bath and let it work its magic. Boo added a calming, milky touch to our bath water, and its perfectly balanced blend of cocoa butter and sandalwood provided our skin with some much needed nourishment. If you’re a fan of cocoa butter based products and want to try something new, you NEED to try this.

Bathing with Boo was basically like bathing with Casper the Friendly Ghost, and, let’s be honest, who would say no to that?

3. Fireside Soap

Okay, so we have to be honest, before trying this,  we weren’t completely sold on the idea of more traditional soap bars. There’s something about them which reminds us of our grans, and while we love them to bits, we don’t want to smell like them.

But, as predicted, Lush were able to completely change our perception. This soap is like a little blanket of love, and it definitely warmed up our morning routines.

We didn’t expect it to create a thick, foaming lather, but it did. It’s nutty, sweet fragrance added a much needed drop of warmth to our showers, and it made us ACTUALLY look forward to getting out of bed in the mornings (and let us tell you, that is no mean feat at this time of year).

The best thing about this soap, though, is its lasting power. If you buy a bar now, it should last through the whole of October, so you’ll have an epic Halloween bathroom decoration you can use ALL month.

4. Goth Fairy Shimmer Bar

This was our FAVE product from Lush’s 2016 Halloween offering – but then, anything which makes us super sparkly is always going to be a winner. If you’re less into ‘The Blair Witch Project’ side of Halloween, and more into the ‘Mean Girls’ side, you’ll LOVE this.

We’re quite dubious of shimmer products, because they don’t always work, but we were REALLY impressed by this bad boy. But don’t just take our word for it, see for yourself…

Aside from being completely glitter-tastic, this gorgeous pink bar has a really sweet smell, which perfectly matches its fairy credentials.  Added illipe butter also kept our skin feeling as soft as a bed of feathers.  We used it before a night out, and it kept us feeling, smelling AND looking good all night. Seriously, this is one magic product.

5. Monsters’ Ball Bath Bomb

It wouldn’t be a proper Lush Halloween without a bath bomb, and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint. We got a proper ‘Monster’s Inc.’ vibe from this colourful little guy – something which filled us with joy before we’d even taken him out of the box!

With a purple bath bomb, you’d expect it to turn the bath a similar colour, right? Wrong. With it being Halloween, our monstrous bath bomb dissolved from a pinky-purple colour into a deep midnight blue. It’s one of the most gorgeous colours we’ve ever seen, and, to be honest we didn’t want to pull the plug on it.

Once we’d put the bath bomb in, a weird devil-ghost-esque figure appeared. Coincidence? We think not.

Hint: If you’re using this, make sure you use the Goth Fairy Shimmer Bar, too. When the two products combine, you end up with a bath which resembles the glistening night sky. Trust us, it’s *seriously* beautiful.
