For as long as we’ve been following One Direction, we’ve been following their hair and makeup artist Lou Teasdale. And we’ve always been super envious of her patented ‘spider lashes’, or intentionally dark and clumpy eyelashes.
Writing for Elle, Lou says, “The ‘rules’ have always told us to avoid the dreaded clumpy, spidery lashes. Sod that. I want my lashes to look thickly coated so their obvious clumpiness looks intentional.” Well, Lou must’ve heard our prayers, because she’s just put out a how-to video on achieving her spidery lash look.
“My general rule is when you think you’ve done enough coats – do one more. And then another one,” Lou instructs. “I’ve actually found that the more expensive mascaras tend to avoid clumps (not my end game), whereas cheaper ones are better to layer up and experiment with.”
Got your high-street mascaras at the ready? Check out Lou’s tutorial here and then give it a go.
