If you’re looking for a weird story today, look no further. We’ve got you covered.
The first ever live broadcast of a panda giving birth (umm okay?) was cancelled. Fair enough, you might think. But not when you find out why. Turns out the mother was faking her pregnancy!
Mum-to-be Ai Hin began showing signs of pregnancy at the Chengdu Breeding Research Centre in China, according to AFP reports state news agency Xinhua.
Expecting pandas need 24/7 care along with more food, and live in an air-conditioned single room. That’s what we request every day with the care coming from a member of 1D, but we never get it. Sigh.
“They also receive more buns, fruits and bamboo, so some clever pandas have used this to their advantage to improve their quality of life,” says Wu Kongju, one of the workers at the centre.
Apparently, Ai Hin had a phantom pregnancy to gain more food, the little bugger! Then again, if we thought we would get all that attention and pampering, we’d pretend we were a pregnant panda, too. Sorry, what?
Who would have thought pandas could be so sneaky, eh? They say you learn something new every day…
