Little Mix slam the sexist comments on their tour costumes – YAS, GIRLS! #GirlPower

While we are totally in love with Little Mix’s tour outfits, some people weren’t too keen and made some pretty sexist comments. Yikes. The girls weren’t best pleased about that and had something to say about it.

Speaking to The Sun, Jade talked about the double standards of how it’s applauded for men to strip down, but a figure-hugging outfit is frowned upon for women.

“We love our leotards. One, they are comfy to dance in. Two, we are sweating our t*ts off so it is a lot cooler wearing a leotard, and three, if a bloke gets his top off on stage, everyone praises him and shouts, ‘Yay, they’ve got their top off’. Then as soon as we come on and we’re in our leotards, all of a sudden there’s an issue with getting your thighs out.”

“It is liberating. We wear what we want to wear and we are still true to ourselves… I don’t think it is overly sexual. If you wear a bikini on the beach, why can’t you wear a leotard on stage?”

Perrie added in agreement, “We wear what we feel comfortable in. We’re not overly sexy in what we do anyway. Some of us are 24. We aren’t going to be able to wear stuff like this for the rest of our life, and parade around in little dresses and stuff, but at the same time, we are just girls.”

Leigh-Anne was next to comment, “If we weren’t comfortable we just wouldn’t wear it. It’s not about being overly sexy, but it’s showing off your assets that you want to show off and if you feel confident in it, then boom.”

YOU TELL EM, GIRLS! It’s not like they’re strutting around in the nuddy, is it?  If we’re more than willing to see the Biebs shirtless on stage, then we need to accept our gals wearing leotards, which shouldn’t even be a problem, anyway!

Love the girls’ tour outfits? Agree with what they have to say? Tweet us your thoughts @maximumpop because we wanna hear ya!
