Liam Payne speaks about two super cringey topics in a new radio interview…

As One Direction started working on promoting their newest single ‘Drag Me Down,’ leading up to the release of their fifth album later this year, Liam Payne took the time to speak with to Magic Radio’s Jo Parkerson.

The hot topics for this interview were why Zayn Malik left (cringe) and Louis Tomlinson’s possible future fatherhood (double cringe).

Liam sounded nothing but supportive of Zayn’s decision to break away from One Direction and try to make it on his own, thank goodness. “He’s off doing his own thing and taking his time,” Liam explained. “His heart wasn’t in it, and you have to go with your heart.”

When asked about Zayn using the hashtag #realmusic in a tweet about his new record deal, Liam didn’t harbor any hard feelings. “I don’t think he meant it that way…and the way that he congratulated us on the single I think covers it.”

Liam continued to talk about how, when Zayn was still with the band and the two of them would be writing new music, they’d work on the less pop-, more rap-style music that Zayn likes. “I like to produce rap beats and stuff,” Liam admitted. “[Zayn]’s got a great voice, and he’s a very talented young man, and we wish him all the best of luck.”

When asked if he would consider following in Zayn’s footsteps and going solo, Liam said, “I’m more interested in the writing side of things if I’m honest…I love being in the band. I don’t know if I could do it by myself now, it’s all too comfortable.”

And then the dreaded baby questions came.

Liam spoke eloquently. “Well obviously I was a bit shocked but he’s taken super well to it. And he’s very excited with what’s going on with him at the moment and I feel that stuff like that happens sometimes…..he’s taking it very seriously.”

‘What’s going on with him?’ ‘Stuff like that happens sometimes?’ Hmm.

When asked about supposed mother Brianna, Liam answered in great detail. “Yeah she’s really nice, she’s a lovely girl.”

Check out the full interview on Magic Radio Saturday 8th August at 3pm. Hopefully we’ll get some more answers!
