It’s been two and half years since we had a solo album from Lady Gaga and we’re in desperate need of a new one. The Little Monsters need her!
Luckily, we’ve got some of the deets on her upcoming album. Trust us, you’re going to love #LG5.
When is it being released?
There is no official date – yet, but Elton John has suggested it could land in 2017 and Gaga even announced it would be out this year during her Golden Globes acceptance speech. It should be here pretty soon then.
Are there any songs out now?
Again, not yet but Elton John has heard a few tracks! “I’ve heard two or three songs from her new record, which she’s making with Mark Ronson, and it’s absolutely brilliant.”
Is she collaborating with anyone then?
Well firstly there’s Mark Ronson – everything he touches turns to gold so we’re SUPER excited to hear it. Gaga’s also back working with RedOne who blessed us with ‘Just Dance’, ‘Bad Romance’, ‘Judas’ and ‘Poker Face’.
She has also been seen in the studio with Nile Rodgers. Can we get a vamped up version of ‘Le Freak’ pls? It would be life changing.
Gaga is also working with Giorgio Moroder aka one of the world’s most respected producers of electronic music. He’s done songs for Britney Spears, Queen, David Bowie, loads of people your parents will know, and a billion other stars. Lady Gaga Bowie-style would certainly be interesting…
Back to the ‘Born This Way’ days, Fernando Garibay and DJ White Shadow have also been working with Gaga. We can feel the hits already.
Last but not least, she’s obviously been spending time with Elton John! We still can’t thank him enough for ‘The Lion King’ soundtrack tbh.
So… what’s it going to sound like?!
It’s going to sound like heaven, basically. Here’s what Gaga has had to say about the sound of #LG5: “I will just tell you that it’s a wonderful, soul-searching experience. And it’s very unlike the last album in that way.” She also explained, “This record is like — my old self as a cadaver. And I’m just, I’m operating on my old self.” YAS QUEEN. Elton John also popped up again and said, “It’s like, back to the early stuff of hers – like ‘You and I’ and the Bruce Springsteen one (as I always call it), ‘Bad Romance’.”
It’ll be no ‘ARTPOP’ 2.0 but more like a magical, updated version of ‘The Fame’. We cannot wait. How excited are you for the return of Ms Gaga? Tweet us @maximumpop with the most crazy, happy Gaga GIF you’ve got.
