Face Off: Kygo battles Matoma for the title of ‘The king of tropical house’. Vote now!

While we’re all waiting for Kygo‘s debut studio album, another Norwegian DJ is attempting to snatch his position as the King of Tropical House. Looks like we got ourselves a good old-fashioned Mexican stand-off.

We all know tropical house is the BOSS right now. So this is a life-changing Face Off really, because whoever comes out on top will reign supreme over the tropical beat realm.

Just like Beauty and the Beast, it is a tale as old as time.

Kygo, after a glorious stint at the top of the world last year, is being challenged by a younger, sexier model (OK, Matoma may only be five months younger than Kygo, but it builds tension).

  • They are from the same country.
  • Their music shares the same influences.
  • They both have an array of celebrity friends who they are not afraid to lean on (we all need someone to lean on after all).

But we only have room for so many Caribbean vibes in our brains!

Both Kygo and Matoma have new tunes out now but which one is better? Listen here:

Kygo feat. Kodaline – Raging

Matoma feat. Sean Paul & K Stewart – Paradise

Vote in the poll below and let us know which you prefer on Twitter @maximumpop. The winner will be revealed on Friday.
