Katy Perry’s manager says she hasn’t recorded a shady T-Swizzle track. Boo, we kind of wanted a musical catfight.

After Taylor Swift detonated the ultimate music war bomb with ‘Bad Blood’ which is seemingly aimed at Katy Perry, the world has been waiting for the ex-BFFs’ next move. We all got a little bit excited when a new track named ‘1984’ was registered under Katy Perry’s name, holding baited breath to see if the song was going to throw major shade at Swifty or not.

Now we hate to be the bearers of bad news but it’s seems that the whole ‘1984’ thing is a massive hoax, according to KP’s label Universal anyway.

“Katy Perry’s managers at Direct Management Group confirm that this story is completely false. Katy Perry was not involved in writing, singing, recording or registering this song,” a statement delivered to Billboard read.

If you’re a bit down about the news, then don’t worry because there’s some hella amazing Katy Perry news as well. ‘Dark Horse’ has just hit one billion views on Vevo.

Now that’s pretty darn amazing.
