Stop what you’re doing! Justin Bieber has broken 1D’s impressive Spotify record with ‘What Do You Mean’

One Direction smashed the Spotify record back in August for one-day streams, but it seems like someone may have just dragged them down as Justin Bieber has just topped them with new single ‘What Do You Mean’. Wowza.

Justin can now celebrate having  gained an outstanding 21 million streams in just five days. This is Biebs’ first single in three years so clearly Beliebers were highly anticipating his comeback and went insane listening to it on Spotify amongst other music websites and apps.

This comes just days after El Bieber performed the new single on the VMAs where he got a little emotional. BBY.

Chatting to Jimmy Fallon, the Canadian cutie explained his little breakdown on stage at one of the biggest music events of the year:

“It was just so overwhelming for me – everything, just the performance. I just wasn’t expecting them to support me in the way they did. The last time I was at an awards show, I was booed. I think it’s just like I’ve worked so hard at this album and at becoming the man I want to become, and then stepping into situations, you just can’t help but feel judged.”

“So I was just feeling judged and wanting to win so badly, and wanting to do what I love so badly that I just put everything on the line. And I think that that was what was so special about the emotional moment at the end, that it was authentic. It was real. I was really just wanting it so bad.”

let me hug you

Three cheers for The Biebs! Hip hip! Hooray!  Hip hip! Hooray!  Hip hip! Hooray!

We cannot wait to hear more of his new music.
