9 photos from Johnny Orlando that show exactly what it’s like to go on tour with Magcon

YouTube sensation, budding pop star and all round teen heartthrob, Johnny Orlando, is back with his third column for MP! This week he’s giving us a sneak peak into the life of a Magcon lad…

Hey everyone!

For my third Maximum Pop! blog post I am going to be sharing stories, experiences and photos from Magcon, the social media meet and greet tour that I was a special guest on this spring.

For those of you who don’t know what Magcon (meet and greet convention) is, it’s basically a weekend where fans can come and meet their favourite singers and social media personalities. Most of the guys on Magcon are big on social media, like Cameron Dallas, Jacob Sartorious and Aaron Carpenter.

Magcon is awesome because it gives fans a chance to meet the people that they follow online, in real life. My first Magcon show was in San Franscisco, which was a lot of fun. I got to meet cool people and perform alongside super talented artists. After San Francisco, we traveled to Minnesota, Seattle, Dallas and Baltimore. I’m from Canada and haven’t traveled around the United States too much, so it was awesome to be able to visit so many cities.

Joining Magcon was such an amazing experience for me. It gave me a chance to get comfortable performing for a big crowd, and allowed
me to meet so many of my fans. After Magcon I realized how much I love touring. Up next is ‘The Boys of Summer Tour’ this July. Stay tuned for a tour diary!

Thanks Johnny! Looking forward to seeing you back next Friday for the next installment of your blog series. Tweet us @maximumpop if you loved seeing what Johnny got up to at Magcon.

David is the Head of Content at Maximum Pop!

Having studied Russian and Spanish at the University of Leeds, David moved to Moscow to work in the education sector. Upon returning to UK soil, David initially immersed himself in the wonderful world of MP! as a music writer.

Now head of all things content, David takes being a music fanboy to a whole new level, and can often be found dancing like there's nobody watching to 'Shout Out To My Ex', obsessing over Lauren Jauregui and defending Taylor Swift's honour.

David once appeared on TV in Armenia. Apparently, "it was awesome".
