JLS are 3 records down in their attempt to release one album every year for a whole decade, but now that the band are essentially granddads in the pop world (and last November’s Jukebox was definitely not an MP! fave), can they pull out all the stops and make the next one an unmissable hit? Read on for the 5 things you need to know about JLS’s upcoming 4th album and make your own mind up…
The list of hit makers working on the 4th JLS album is enough to make any pop fan jump up and down like a maniac. From Babyface (Beyoncé, Madonna), to Bangladesh (Rihanna, Ke$ha), all the way through to Sean Garrett (Jay-Z, Usher). Plus, the boys have been in the studio with the legendary Darkchild. *Bangs head on ceiling*
After flirting with club beats and dance music on some of their recent singles (‘Do You Feel What I Feel’ and ‘She Makes Me Wanna’ in particular), Aston reckons it’s time to strip things back. “We want to take some of it back to our roots from when we first began.” Charity single ‘Proud’ might be a good indicator of what’s to come.
We’re not entirely sure but the band have confirmed that they’re halfway through recording. They’ve hinted that once their upcoming UK tour is over, they’ll be ready to release the first single, plus all three of their previous albums were released in November – so we’re going to use our MP! crystal ball and predict an album release date of November 2012!
One of the inspirations for the album includes the potato’s worst enemy, Ed Sheeran, so don’t be surprised if his name appears on the tracklisting – and the boys have expressed interest in recording with Adele (although she might be too busy duetting with Tinie Tempah). Aston’s dream list also includes Pixie Lott, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and Rihanna.
Will the artwork include a gratuitous nipple shot? None of the previous albums have been so generous, but we’ll be praying to the Pop Gods in front of our JLS shrine every night to try and make it happen. And if not, we can always perve over the official calendar instead.
Stay tuned to Maximum Pop! because as soon as we know more about the 4th JLS album, you’ll be the first to know.
