Today’s ALARM POP comes from one of our fave UK female artists and an up-and-coming rapper from the US who has already worked with the likes of Cher Lloyd and Austin Mahone. If you only listen to one song today, be sure to make it this one!
The ‘Domino’ hitmaker is spoiling her Heartbeats rotten lately by releasing not one, not two, but FOUR songs from her forthcoming second album over the past week. ‘Excuse My Rude’ is an anthem for the brokenhearted and acts as a massive middle finger in the air to that ex that you just cannot stand!
The song begins with some heavy beats which are reminiscent to the star’s launch with ‘Dude It Like A Dude’ and drifts into a calm, mid-tempo tone by the end. The lyrics in this song tell of how Jessie is ashamed for having fallen for an ex-partner’s acts and found out how they always mess things up and talk about nothing but themselves (we all know somebody like it, don’t we?) Jessie tells that old flame that she just doesn’t care anymore and she really hates him.
Becky G’s rap is definitely a highlight of the song, with the teen starlet telling us she’ll “hit you on the telly, when I’m in your areay, next nevuary.” That’s a line we’ll be using in the future!
If this, and the other songs Jessie has previewed recently, make the album then we’ll DEFINITELY be buying!
