They’ve been in the studio with 5SOS lately, but who the hell are Trophy Wives?

We recently reported that 5SOS were back in the studio and were accompanied by a band called ‘Trophy Wives’. We’ve been doing a bit of digging and we’ve got the lowdown on everyone’s new fave band.

The band hails from Rhode Island, USA, and consists of three members – Sam Boxold (Vocals/Guitar), Tyler Young (Guitar) and Travis Danforth (Bass). The band first got together in 2012 and originally consisted of five members, but now they rock on as a trio. They met through playing in other bands on the local music scene, so music truly brought them together.

They released their first EP, ‘Letting Go’, back in the summer of 2012 and the follow up ‘One Way Trip To Mars’ in 2013. We’re super excited that they’ve been in the studio with 5SOS and we hope that this is an indication of new music. Oooooh.

In 2014 and 2015, Trophy Wives were chosen to appear at several dates of the ‘Vans Warped Tour’ after being finalists in the ‘2014 Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands’. Not bad, eh?

This year they return to ‘Warped Tour’ and will be joining Austin Jones on his tour this summer across the US.

There’s not much info as to how they and 5SOS first met, but we’re just wondering that maybe, just MAYBE, they could be potential candidates to join ‘Hi or Hey Records’. Only time will tell…

If you’re a fan of our Aussie punk rockers, then we think you’re going to love this band.

You can give them a right good stalking by following their Twitter, being their buds on Facebook, see their lives in picture on Instagram, listen to their music on Spotify and subscribe to them on YouTube. BOOM!
