In the latest installment of Weird 1D Rumors, today we bring you the resurrection of long-dead, briefly-lived Haylor.
You may recall the strange little season-long “romance” between Harry Styles and Taylor Swift that was built on the strong foundation of handholding in Central Park. You may also recall the countless songs on Taylor’s album 1989 like ‘Style‘ and ‘Out Of The Woods’ that were supposedly written about said romance.
Welp, as we anxiously await One Direction’s next single ‘Perfect’ to officially drop this Friday, suddenly Haylor has returned to our lives like a not-at-all-ironic clingy ex. ‘Perfect,’ written by Harry and Louis Tomlinson (and okay, a handful of other people), is promised to be the “emotionally charged ironic love song” we’ve been waiting for from the pair. You know, Harry and Louis.
But now, we’re hearing claims that ‘Perfect’ is actually Harry’s clapback against all of Taylor’s songs about him. The rumored ‘Perfect’ lyric “If you like when I’m driving with the windows down” is supposedly a reference to Taylor’s line “It’s 2am in your car, windows down, you pass my street” from her song ‘I Wish You Would.’ Maybe it’s a reference to Big Time Rush or Florida Georgia Line or any of the other countless artists with songs that have lyrics about windows down. But that’s neither here nor there.
Anyway, looks like the Haylor chatter will be in full effect this week as we count down the days until we can blast ‘Perfect’ so loud from our speakers that we can’t hear any other ridiculous rumors.
