Harry talked exclusively to Daryl Morris on Manchester radio station Key 103 in advance of the release of ‘Sign of the Times’ and gave us the following juicy tidbits:
On his mum hearing his album: “She cried a couple of times which was good, I think that was good.”
On his stepdad’s thoughts on his album… “I had one piece of feedback from my stepdad, one of the songs on the album has a vocal effect in the background. And it finished and he went, “How did you get a duck in the studio?”
On performing solo: “When we used to tour there was times where I could pop off and go for a wee during the show if I needed to while someone else was doing something. I can’t do that anymore”
On speaking to Liam after the birth of his child: “I actually spoke to him and he’s loving it. He said it’s going really well and everyone’s great. So I’m very happy for him.”
On being godfather: “I think it’s a role of the dice, I think there is a lot of people who Liam has in mind; I’m not going to add any extra pressure. If it came my way I would be honoured.”

Harry also dropped by BBC Radio 1 this morning to discuss his new single ‘Sign of the Times’ with Nick Grimshaw.
In the interview Harry revealed that his record is done and dusted and that it is his favourite album to listen to at the minute:
“In the least weird way possible, it’s my favourite album to listen to at the moment. I think if you put out something that you don’t stand behind and really love, then if it doesn’t go well then you could regret not doing what you wanted to do.”
But it seemed that Ed Sheeran doesn’t share his opinion. Harry said that when he played his album for the ‘Shape of You’ singer, he was less than impressed:
“I played him a few songs after the album was finished. He didn’t say that he didn’t like any but he did like one song that isn’t on the album. So I did have a bit of a minute of like hmmm no but…”
But Harry decided to stick with his guns anyway.
“Whereas if nothing happens with it, I love it you know so I think that’s what you should do. I think that’s been my favourite part to the overall thing is listening to the album and making all the changes – it has been fun to watch over it all.”
As the interview aired the internet reactions to ‘Sign of the Times’ were literally as mental as you would predict!
