Marvel Studios begins production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

We’ve got you covered for all the Marvel films coming out this year. But what about 2017? That’s right, it’s finally happening! In 2014, we all fell in love with the guardians who saved the Galaxy and now they’re coming back for more.

Marvel Studios has begun principal photography on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. The film is slated to premiere in UK cinemas on April 28th, 2017. And guess what? James Gunn, who also directed the first film, will be writing and directing Vol. 2. Praise the heavens (or the galaxy… ok that was so bad please read on).

All the original Guardians including Chris Pratt as Star-lord aka Peter Quill; Zoe Saldana as Gamora; Dave Bautista as Drax; Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket; Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot; Michael Rooker as Yondu; Karen Gillan as Nebula; and Sean Gunn as Kraglin will all be returning. As well as a few new faces which we’re sure will make this next instalment even greater.

In 2014 the first film, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ was a hit with audiences and critics worldwide. We mean, how could it not? It was actually perfection. The film grossed over $770 million at the worldwide box-office, and holds the record as the most successful debut film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (*dies*). And if that wasn’t epic enough, the film’s soundtrack went platinum and was nominated for a Grammy.

If you’re ready to see more dancing from the Star-lord or more Groot (don’t lie, we know you do), let us know at @maximumpop.
