You can find them all over the DigiWorld but what about make one all by yourself? Pretty hard to make right? Nope. The best part about GIFs is that with this handy tutorial, you’ll be a pro in no time at all.
- Photoshop CS6 (Mac or Windows) (CS5 will be fine)
- KeepVid (it’s free online) to download videos directly from YouTube if you’re not capping using KMplayer.
Go to KeepVid and paste the video URL and click DOWNLOAD.
Delete the frames you don’t want by holding down shift to select more than one frame then just hit backspace to delete.
Click the first frame, hold down “shift“ and click the last frame to highlight all the frames. Click the number on any of the frames and choose Other…
Keep all the frames highlighted and click the drop down button
Next click Convert to Video Timeline
Click the first layer on the right and highlight all the layers then click the Convert to Smart Object button.
Time to crop the GIF. We want to crop the black stripe above and under.
If you want to resize your GIF go to Image > Image Size…
We’re almost there, darlings. Time to save this piece of art.
Go to File > Save for Web and use these settings
