GET WEIRD! 16 songs that will make you proud to be a loveable oddity

At Maximum Pop! we believe that the weirder you are, the better. No-one likes a boring Little Miss Perfect. That’s everybody’s least favourite ‘Mr. Men’ book!

But sometimes we all need reminding that it’s OK not to fit in. So, to help you not lose sight of how amazingly unique you are, we have created a playlist which you can blast out while you’re totally feeling yourself.

Tweet us @maximumpop if you can think of any other feel good weirdo anthems.

Here’s a little explanation as to why we picked each one:

 Troye Sivan – ‘Lost Boy’

‘Cos we’re all just lost boys who are ready to be found.

Meghan  Trainor – ‘I Love Me’

‘Cos you literally can’t love yourself enough!

Kelly Clarkson – ‘Mr. Know It All’

People will try to bring you down, but you just need stand up tall no matter what.

Little Mix – ‘Weird People’

Yes! The weirdo anthem to end all weirdo anthems.

One Direction – ‘Little Things’

This one’s about celebrating the cute little idiosyncrasies which we all have.

Avril Lavigne – ‘Anything but Ordinary’

If Avril would rather be anything but ordinary, so would we.

Amy Studt – ‘Misfit’

A glorious ode to being a high school odd-bod.

Daya – ‘Sit Still, Look Pretty’

This rebellious little tune is about not confirming to society’s gender stereotypes.

Lorde – ‘Royals’

The gritty queen bee of the downtrodden will never be royal, but then, who needs gold teeth and grey goose?

Ke$ha – ‘We R Who We R’

No need to pretend to be anyone else ‘cos we are hot and dangerous.

Lady GaGa – ‘Born this Way’

‘Cos baby we were born this way.

Cheryl – ‘Only Human’

We all make mistakes because we’re only human.

Jessie J – ‘Nobody’s Perfect’

I’m not a saint, no, not at all.

P!nk – ‘Raise your Glass’

We will never be anything but loud and nitty-gritty, dirty little freaks.

Diana Vickers – ‘Music to Make Boys Cry’

Don’t need to make you love me, I got myself and I.

Alessia Cara – ‘Wild Things’

We are all wild things!

Having studied Russian and Spanish at the University of Leeds, David moved to Moscow to work in the education sector. Upon returning to UK soil, David initially immersed himself in the wonderful world of MP! as a music writer.

Now head of all things content, David takes being a music fanboy to a whole new level, and can often be found dancing like there's nobody watching to 'Shout Out To My Ex', obsessing over Lauren Jauregui and defending Taylor Swift's honour.

David once appeared on TV in Armenia. Apparently, "it was awesome".
