It’s safe to say that we’re pretty familiar with strange beauty trends, here at MP!
After all, we’ve dabbled in a fair few of them in the past and are always the first ones to embrace something weird and wonderful.
That said, THIS eyebrow trend takes the strange-factor to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. Prepare yourself, guys and gals. It’s odd – even by our standards.
So what is this new trend? Well, it’s called ‘feather brows’ and just like the name suggests it basically involves shaping your eyebrows like peacock feathers.
Finnish makeup artist, Stella Sironen, was the first Instagrammer to debut the new brow. But, whilst we appreciate how creative as the idea is, it’s sort of making our skin crawl.
Just look at it…
so i’m starting this new brow trend please recreate it and wear it everyday and dont forget to tag me like and subscribe and hit that bell button🔔😩👌🏻 ALL credits go to my muse @leevittu he came up with this whilst brushing my eyebrows last sunday brow: glue stick skin: @maccosmetics Face&Body foundation C1, @maccosmetics pro longwear concealer NW20, a lot of Fix+ for the wet effect highlight: @katvondbeauty Alchemist Palette (Emerald, Opal, Amethyst) eyeshadows: @lipsicosmetics lipstick on the lid and @maccosmetics matte lipsticks in Frosting and Matte Royal mixed for the inner&outer corners mascara: @maccosmetics in extreme dimension lash mascara in Hold For 10
To create the look Stella, splits her eyebrow hairs in half using a glue stick. She then combs half of the hair upwards and half of the hair downwards.
note to self: when u make a joke about starting a funny brow trend people will take it seriously and…. well. start the trend anyways THANK YOU for all the love and hate on my last pic! i think we should call this #featherbrows so if you actually want to recreate this, pls use the hashtag and tag me in the picture💘 skin: @maccosmetics strobe cream, face&body foundation c1, pro longwear concealer in NC15, fix+ highlight: @maccosmetics Double Gleam brows: glue stick + @anastasiabeverlyhills dipbrow pomade in Dark Brown eyeshadows: @maccosmetics Texture & Coppering lashes: @ardell_lashes Wispies lips: @lipsicosmetics Leros + clear lip gloss
After sharing the selfie, Stella’s trend quickly went viral. Hundreds of Instagrammers are seriously into the look and have been copying feather brows, left, right and center.
Stella has even posted a second snap of the look, explaining why she created the trend to begin with.
ok so obviously this has gotten out of hand and it’s hilarious and amazing but i wanted to clarify some stuff: 1. i joked about starting a trend in the caption of my first pic not about the actual makeup 2. drag queens have used glue on their brows since forever so please don’t credit me for that lol 3. i know that brows are a sacred part of the face but consider this: there is lip art and eye art and tons of different forms of creative makeup, why is experimenting with brows so strange? shoutout to @popsugarbeauty, @huffpostwomen and @dailymail for making the best articles about this, go read them! and i can’t thank you guys enough for your support, this feels unreal❤️ peacock feather brow: @cameleonfinland body paints, @katvondbeauty tattoo liner in Trooper, @anastasiabeverlyhills dipbrow pomade in Dark Brown, glue stick skin: @maccosmetics next to nothing Light Plus, pro longwear concealer in NC15 lower lid: @makeupstore Romantic Garden & Emerald eye pencils liner: @toofaced chocolate bar palette (Triple Fudge) lashes: @grimassuomi 325
So, there we have it. Stella created feather brows as a ‘bit of fun’. Obviously, this hasn’t stopped Twitter from having their fair share of lols over it.
