The second teaser trailer for the ‘Harry Potter’ prequel ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ just dropped and we didn’t think it was possible to be even more excited about the film, yet here we are.
So to commemorate this bloomin’ beautiful day of magical witches and wizards in the enchanting backdrop of New York City, we’re going to break down the trailer into seven of the best bits. Although, lets be real, the whole two minutes sixteen-seconds were pretty freaking marvellous — we may or may not have been screaming the entire way through.
THE ICONIC WARNER BRO’S LOGO THAT WE’D GROWN SO FOND OF THROUGHOUT THE HP FRANCHISE
Honestly, it just felt like coming home seeing the Warner Brother’s logo all smokey and wonderful. There are actual tears in our eyes!
FIRST SIGHTINGS OF EDDIE REDMAYNE AS NEWT SCAMANDER AND 1926 NEW YORK
If nothing else, the whole cinematography vibe of this film is going to be immense. Although… Eddie Redmayne has proven himself to be a pretty incredible actor, so we’ve got pretty high hopes for this one. He won an Oscar for his role in ‘The Theory of Everything’ for goodness sake.
PUTTING THE BEASTS IN FANTASTIC BEASTS
Uh, what’s that trying to creep out of your suitcase, Newt?
MAGIC SUITCASE! WE REPEAT MAGIC SUITCASE!
In the trailer, we see Newt flick a switch to make his suitcase ‘muggle worthy’ before it goes through a security check. No creatures in this case. Nope, just your usual assortment of muggle things. Jumpers, shoes, a scarf… Seriously though, where can we get one?
WHO IS ALBERTO MACELLARUS?
Our magical senses lead us to believe this guy could be the Lord Voldemort of the 1920s, although probably not nearly as badass. He appears to have a nose, after all.
THROWBACK TO THAT SCENE IN THE FIRST HARRY POTTER FILM
Let us take you back to when foetus Harry Potter learned all there was to know about the wizarding world. And then Hagrid went and blew his actual mind when he parted the secret passage at the back of the Leaky Cauldron into Diagon Alley. We are feeling all of the feels right now.
AHHH! LOOK AT IT!
The moment that that familiar ‘Harry Potter’ theme begins to play and everything is right in the world.
If it weren’t abundantly clear, our Potterhead hearts have truly been reignited and this trailer has left us in a puddle of our own tears.
How do you feel about it? Because, honestly, we don’t know how we’re going to cope waiting until the 18th November when ‘Fantastic Beasts’ is set to be released. Tweet us your support @maximumpop!
