This doppelganger looks SO much like Emma Watson you’ll be seeing double

“I was running an errand at the post office, and a couple of young girls kept calling me Hermione Granger.”

Someone call Emma Watson and tell her she has a twin. No, seriously, do it! You’re going to blown away when you see this doppelgänger.

Maximum Pop! recently spoke to Kari Lewis. She’s a 27-year-old mum who lives in Indianapolis, IN and looks the spitting image of everyone’s favourite actress.

Kari has previously worked some small acting gigs. She was as a clown for a circus, actor for different Haunted Houses, and appeared in a ‘Wizard of Oz’ musical.

Now, she works in a movie rental store and cosplays as Hermione and Belle at conventions and children’s birthday parties. Take a look at her amazing costumes…

We had a natter to Kari about the repose she gets as an Emma lookalike. Not only did she tell us why ‘Harry Potter’ is so important to her (she’s a Hufflepuff in case you were wondering) but we also challenged her to THE ultimate game of Harry Potter: Would you rather.

Here’s what Kari had to say…

Hi Kari! When was the first time you realised you looked like Emma Watson?

I wasn’t fully aware of Harry Potter until the first movie got released. I was running an errand at the post office, and a couple of young girls kept calling me Hermione Granger. I hadn’t heard of her before, so I went home and I told my mom about it then, we looked it up and found out about Emma Watson.

That’s crazy. Did you start reading the books or watching the films after that?

I started reading the books, and I got hooked immediately. It helped me get through a lot during my teenage life; I’ve moved around a bit, so I didn’t have many friends. The books became a way to escape reality for me, and the same goes for the films as well. I always felt at home with the Harry Potter universe.

What’s the strangest thing that’s happened to you as an Emma lookalike?

I can’t really recall having anything super strange happening to me online/offline because of ‘looking like’ Emma.. but, I’ve had requests on my Instagram to try and do a British accent (which, I think I’m really terrible at). Just the other day, I went out to a Harry Potter event at Tappers (a really cool arcade bar in Indy).. and, one person asked me if I was ‘Kari Lewis, the Emma Watson lookalike’ before asking for a photo with me. That was pretty cool. I also got asked to judge a Harry Potter costume contest, and I thought that was awesome!

How do people usually respond when they see you?

A lot of times, I get people doing a double take and not quite figuring out where they might have seen me before; but, then they tell me I look like ‘that one British actress’.

What about other stars? Have you ever been told you look like anyone else?

I’ve also heard I look like the Kimmy Gibbler character in ‘Full House’, and Christa B. Allen (when she played the young character of Jennifer Garner’s in ’13 Going On 30′). Most times, they usually say I resemble Emma.

How do kids respond when they spot you?

I don’t get a lot of comments from kids, but I did get to dress up as Belle for a birthday gig this past week; it was for a 5 year old girl and her friends, and they were all so happy to see me! One of the girls said to me, “I’ve never seen a real princess before!” My heart literally melted.

That sounds incredible. Is being a professional lookalike something you’d like to pursue further?

I’d love to pick up on more ‘lookalike’ gigs. I had so much fun with the princess party, and I think it would be great to expand further in the business. I hadn’t thought much of it until just recently, so I would gladly do more gigs if I’m ever given the opportunity for it. I love dressing up, and the joy I gave those girls felt really awesome!

So, has Emma ever said anything about the uncanny comparison? Has she ever reached out to you at all?

I haven’t received any recognition from Emma, no. I’m not sure what she thinks of the whole thing; I bet it’s either really weird or really amusing to her – lol. I’d probably get jittery/nervous if she ever reached out to me.

Speaking of Emma, we thought we’d finish things with a little Harry Potter quick fire round of would you rather.

So would you rather go for a butterbeer with Harry or Ron?

Ron! He’s quite comical and entertaining.

Be top of the class with Hermione as a rival or bottom of the class with her as your BFF?

Why can’t I be in the middle? Lol. Uhm, bottom of the class.

Be taught by Dumbledore or Snape?

Snape. Dumbledore might have me running in circles.

Haha brilliant! Would you rather have Cedric or Newt as your Hufflepuff house BFF?

Newt! Who doesn’t love magical creatures?!

Be forced to be potion partners with Draco or Pansy?

Draco. Pansy scares me.

Play Quidditch or Wizard’s Chess?

Quidditch. I’d love to fly around on a broomstick.

Spend an hour talking to Daniel Radcliffe or an hour talking to JK Rowling?

JK Rowling. I look up to her, and I’d love to pick at her mind.

You can follow Kari on Instagram @kariellex. Leave a comment below and tell us what you think of her incredible costumes. Also tell us which actress, actor or popstar you’d most like to look like.
