“I’m proud of my body”: Ellie Goulding talks about her experiences with ‘slut shaming’

We are strong believers in people wearing whatever they want, so it’s no surprise that when Ellie Goulding opened up about the topic in a recent interview we were 100% agreeing with her.

Chatting to Canada’s ‘Flare’ magazine, Ellie discussed the online trolls slamming her for what she wears.

“I have been [slut-shamed], 100 per cent, on social media. I work out a lot; I’m proud of my body. I put up a picture of myself, and people are like, ‘Put it away; you’re supposed to be a good influence on young people’.

“Young women should have the freedom to post a picture with no make-up and wearing a tracksuit or in full make-up and a tight dress.”

YES, ELLIE. You tell them, babe. It’s 2016 people. If a gal wants to wear shorts and a crop top, let her do it!

feminist

Ellie isn’t the only artist talking about equality for women as Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui said her top work tip was to “stop the name-calling and stop telling people what to wear or how to act.”

We are loving this girl power. Agree with Ellie? Tweet us @maximumpop!
