Alarm Pop: Ellie Goulding- Burn

Welcome to another Alarm Pop, where we deliver the best new music around and ask for nothing in return- It has been suggested that we get a knighthood.

This weeks Alarm Pop is very apt after the sunny weekend and is Ellie Goulding’s latest electro pop offering ‘Burn’. ‘Burn’ will be released on the 18th of August and will lead her ‘Halycon’ reissue which is due to land in shops and iTunes on the 26th of August.

‘Burn’ is was created by Ellie and Ryan Tedder (of OneRepublic fame) and has both of their styles mixed in to create a perfect Summer pop hit. It has Ellie’s signature electro pop synths and Tedder’s trademarked repetitive choruses (“Halo, halo, halo” and “Battlefield, battlefield, battlefield”) as well as his usual booming drums.

Now add a festival style video with lots of lights and dancing and you have recipe for success, which is exactly what the ‘Anything Could Happen’ songstress did.

POP FACT: The song was originally recorded by Leona Lewis for her album Glassheart but the X Factor alumni decided against it- Silly girl.

Check out the video for Ellie’s ‘Burn’ below and let us know on a scale of 1- 1,000,000 how much you love it (we are currently at 999,999)!
