Alarm Pop: Ella Henderson – ‘Ghost’. The big voiced X Factor star returns with epic new song!

Not many people who come 6th place in a talent show manage to successfully fight their way back into the spotlight but in the world of pop, anything can happen. Some of you lot may remember Ella Henderson, the teenager with the huge voice who was one of the highlights of the X Factor class of 2012. Ella found herself in an unexpected sing-off against eventual winner James Arthur and subsequently signed a deal but went off the radar for a while. Now she’s back with a possibly one of the biggest singles of year.

‘Ghost’ takes all the best bits of Adele’s ‘Rolling In the Deep and Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’ to make an incredible, gospel influenced power ballad.  The song was also penned by One Republic front man Ryan Tedder, who is responsible for various other lady warbling power ballads like Beyonce’s ‘Halo’ and Jordin Sparks’ ‘Battlefield’, so he clearly knows exactly what he’s doing in this department.

The song also comes complete with one of those glossy looking epic videos with confusing story lines and lots of people running in slow motion while looking anguished, inter-spliced with some amazing shots of Ella strutting down the street in a floor length red dress. As you do.

So, with the likes of Adele and Leona on indefinite hiatus recording new albums, the stage is most definitely set for a new, big voiced diva with big ballads we can cry and wail along to. Will Ella be the one? We certainly think so!
