Cheryl’s smashed it with her single ‘I Don’t Care’, this week the X Factor judge and all round pop pro has scored her fifth UK Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.
Pretty big news for Mrs CFV as this now makes her hold the record for the most UK Number 1s for a British female artist.
Following Cheryl up the rear (oo er) is last week’s chart-topper Ed Sheeran who’s in at the Number 2 spot with his slow jam ‘Thinking Out Loud’. Ed’s also broken a record for the most audio streams in a single week! Clocking up 1,638,000 streams within the last seven days, jeeez that’s a lot of listening!
Making up the rest of the Top 5 is Meghan Trainor still banging on about that bass in third place. John Legend takes a massive leap after appearing on The X Factor from Number 26 to 4 and the ever so gorgeous Taylor Swift finishes off the Top 5 with ‘Shake It Off’.
This week’s album battle came between Ed Sheeran and Calvin Harris, at the midweek stage Calvin was leading by just over 1000 copies.
Calvin lost…Ed won. Ed Sheeran is back at the Number 1 spot in the Official Albums Chart 12 weeks after its 8 week reign back in July and August this year, we’re still feeling that album!
Calvin Harris’ ‘Motion’ is the fourth album from the Scottish hottie which includes his Number 1 singles ‘Summer’ and ‘Blame’.
Last week’s Number 1 album ‘1989’ by Taylor Swift slips down to the third spot, we’re sensing a theme with this chart, non?
That’s it for this week folks!
