Drake has been Number One for nine weeks! Could Clean Bandit, Zara Larsson or Dua Lipa finally knock him off the top?

He might only want one dance, but here in the UK, we clearly can’t stop dancing to Drake.

Drake’s incredible ‘One Dance’ is still at Number One, which is where it has been sat since April. So much has happened since Drake went to Number One. We’ve had ‘Thank You’, ‘Dangerous Woman’, ‘7/27’ and ‘Last Year Was Complicated’ since then, for example.

He’s been at the top for nine weeks, meaning that he’s just one weeks shy of being at the top for as long as his mate Rihanna was with ‘Umbrella’. But, who could knock him off the top?

?? Kungs vs Cookin’ on 3 Burners – ‘This Girl’

Although ‘One Dance’ is Number One in the Official Charts, it is currently sat at Number Eight on iTunes. ‘This Girl’ by Kungs vs Cookin’ on 3 Burners is Number One on iTunes, and sounds exactly what you’d expect a Number One in 2016 to sound like. It’s also Number One in the midweeks, but Drake has been gaining momentum all week.

?? Clean Bandit – ‘Tears’ (feat. Louisa Johnson)

Speaking of songs higher than ‘One Dance’ on iTunes, Clean Bandit’s ‘Tears’ has held up particularly well since it came out in May. This song is everything pop should be: a heartbreaking song that can you can dance to. It looks like it may fall out of the Top Five this week, but we expect this to be massive for the entire summer.

?? Dua Lipa – ‘Hotter Than Hell’

There hasn’t been a Number One single with a woman as the main artist since Adele’s ‘Hello’ last year. Dua Lipa could ‘be the one’ to change all that, though. Thanks to Big Brother playing ‘Hotter Than Hell’ (and the fact the song is a 10/10), Dua is currently sat in the Top 10 on iTunes. Her streaming is a bit behind, but this could be Number One by the end of June.

?? David Guetta – ‘This One’s For You’ (feat. Zara Larsson)

Another song that is creeping up the charts is David Guetta and Zara Larsson’s ‘This One’s For You’. Since they performed it at the Euro 2016 concert, it has snuck into the Top 15 on iTunes. It would be very nice for Zara to get a Number One, seeing as ‘Lush Life’, ‘Girls Like’ and ‘Never Forget You’ are in the Top 30 biggest songs of this year.

?? Drake – ‘Too Good’ (feat. Rihanna)

What if, though, Drake knocked himself off the top spot? ‘Too Good’ is primed to be a huge hit over summer, with it currently sat at just outside the Top Five in the charts. It’s also already in the Top 3 on the streaming chart, meaning that it already has a head start on the other contenders. Frankly, this is more than worthy of the top spot.
