It’s come to that time of the week again where we ask for your verdict on some fresh, up and coming pop. It should be the first question you ask yourself after you’ve just heard a new pop track: It’s DOWNLOAD OR DITCH?
Today’s “Download or Ditch?” is brought to you by Cameron Whiley. Cameron is a brand spanking new pop/rap star and it’s hard to believe this über-talented youngster is just 19 years old. We have put his debut single ‘Reh Reh Reh’ up for debate and need your help to decide whether it deserves a place in our MP! iTunes.
‘Reh Reh Reh’ is an infectious and fun summer hit that does not take itself too seriously i.e. Emeli Sande won’t be covering it in Live Lounge. The song and video are funny and catchy- Think something along the lines of Macklemore’s ‘Thrift Shop’. You can’t help but be glued to your computer screen for the entire 3 minutes and 16 seconds. Our favourite bit has to be the three granny back up singers.
The Nottingham rapper described ‘Reh Reh Reh’ as “a sarcastic and funny way to describe an argument with someone. The phrase carries it’s own unique dialogue of explaining a series of event’s and that’s what I was aiming to show in the video”.
POP FACT: Not only can Cameron sing and rap but he also is a tattoo artist who tattoos himself. Is there anything this guy can’t do?
We NEED you! What’s your opinion on ‘Reh Reh Reh’? The track is available on the 30th of June, but should we download or ditch it?
Result: The lines are closed. The votes are in. Cameron is a definite download with 94.44% of the vote. Congrats Mr. Whiley, we can’t wait to hear lots more from you in the future!
