Download or Ditch: Nathan Sykes – ‘Give It Up’

Did someone say “take me to funky town”? Well Nathan Sykes certainly heard it that way cos he’s gone all 90’s on our asses for his new single ‘Give It Up’.

The former member of The Wanted (he’s still wanted in our eyes) put in an appearance on Radio 1’s Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw on 4th April to announce the release of his new single. How cute is this?

Nathan is also currently supporting Little Mix on their ‘Get Weird’ tour so if you managed to snag some tickets for that one more power to you.

If you thought Nathan was a smooth operator before this, just you wait until you hear his mature new sound. There’s a hell of a lot of crooning, a bit more than a smidge of funkiness and a sneaky 90’s sample courtesy of Blackstreet’s ‘Don’t Leave Me’. Give it a cheeky stream:

The single is out on 13th May. Let us know what you think of ‘Give It Up’ by tweeting us @maximumpop.
