Cast your mind back, readers, to the distant days of 2002. Westlife, Ronan Keating and Atomic Kitten were all over the airwaves, some bloke called Simon Cowell was getting a reputation for brutal honesty on the very first series of Pop Idol, and a bratty Canadian skater punk was about to invade the charts with her debut smash ‘Complicated’.
Eleven years on, Avril Lavigne may be 28 and getting ready for her second marriage, but if her new single ‘Here’s To Never Growing Up’ is anything to go by, she’s not quite ready for the pipe and slippers just yet.
With a shout-a-long chorus about singing Radiohead and dancing on bars, Avril comes off like Ke$ha’s older sister. It’s definitely catchy, but after her last lead single ‘What The Hell’ barely cracked the top twenty, will it be enough to put her back on top?
Only you can decide readers; has Avril still got it, or is it time she started acting her age? VOTE NOW:
