Amelia Lily ‘Party Over’ Download or Ditch?

Amelia Lily is one busy pop star these days. Not only is she supporting Girls Aloud on their national tour, she’s also found the time to unleash the lyric video for her new single ‘Party Over’. As you’d expect it’s another pulsating dance banger – a little bit clubbier than her last two singles, but still sprinkled liberally with that distinctive Xenomania magic.

Now, here’s the awkward part. Much as we loved it, Amelia’s last single ‘Shut Up (& Give Me Whatever You Got)’ didn’t exactly set the charts alight in the way her amazing debut ‘You Bring Me Joy’ did, so she’ll be hoping that this one is strong enough to put her back in the top 5 where she belongs.

We really hope Amelia gets the success she deserves with this single – she’s a great pop star with bags of attitude and a brilliant voice, as she aptly demonstrated during her time on X Factor many moons ago. ‘You Bring Me Joy’ is still one of our favourite songs from last year, and we’re anticipating more Xenomania-penned gems when she finally releases her debut album in April. But as we know when it comes to Brian Higgins and co, for every Girls Aloud there’s a Rachel Stevens or a Mini Viva who burn brightly, then all-too-quickly fall by the wayside despite a host of brilliant tunes. (The second Rachel Stevens album is still a total lost pop classic, and ‘One Touch’ by Mini Viva should have been huge).

Fortunately, Amelia survived this download or ditch. We can’t wait for the whole album.
