It’s no secret that we’re die-hard coffee addicts. Just like Lorelai Gilmore, we run on the stuff and broken coffee machines have led to full blown meltdowns.
So when the news broke that there was a new drink that combines both our love for caffeine and all things pastel, we were pretty excited.
Obviously, we’re talking about Starbucks‘ latest creation… the Unicorn Frappuccino! You’ve probs seen it floating around your social media feeds and just as the name suggests it’s truly magical!
The ice beverage is a medley of bright pink, purple and blue and it includes a mixture of sweet and sour flavours.
Ugh, it looks sooooo good.
We’ll take five, please.
You lot have been tweeting some flippin’ hilarious things about the new drink. Seriously, they’ve had us laughing for hours. Here are a few of our faves…
Well we all know where Voldemort works now #unicornfrappuccino

But did you really get the new Unicorn frappuccino from Starbucks today if you didn’t post it on your Snap Story ?

The sad news is that the Unicorn Frappuccino is only available in U.S. stores until tomorrow (April 23rd). Ugh, we know, we know – we’re sobbing too.
You need to bring the magical creation to the UK ASAP, Starbucks.
Thankfully there are other alternatives, though. HelloGiggles posted up a DIY recipe for unicorn coffee, which we decided to try out. It’s super easy to make and looks incredible.
So flick on ya kettles guys and gals and let’s get cracking.
What you’ll need
- Ice Cream
- Whipped Cream
The first step is simple, you need to brew a cup of coffee and add milk and sugar to your liking.
Next, add a dollop of ice cream. Ours was strawberry, but again choose whatever flavour you like. We reckon chocolate would work really well.
Now for the fun part…
Squirt on a ridiculous amount of whipped cream. NOM!
And, add loads and loads of sprinkles.
It’s as easy as that! You can now enjoy DIY unicorn coffee.
We’re not gonna lie, we were pretty apprehensive about the recipe. After all, ice-cream in coffee?! Errrr…. no thanks. But it ACTUALLY tastes really good!
Personally, we recommend drinking it in the warmer months, whilst your lounging in your garden listening to Little Mix – lol!
