Make your school stuff look 100% cooler with these DIY Tumblr pins

They’re super easy to make!

So, as most of you already know, we’re pretty big mahoooosive Tumblr addicts. You only have to check out all the cutsey graphics we post on the website to see that!

In fact, we love the site soooo much that we decided to create our very own Tumblr-style pins. Yep, you heard us… TUMBLR. PINS.

They’re super cute and will make your outfits or school stuff look approximately 36278190 times cooler.

We also like to think of them as the official Maximum Pop! uniform, too. After all, how many times have you seen the ‘Too Sassy For You’  heart and ‘Pizza King’ crown on the site?! LOL!

To make the pins, you’ll need to do a little prep and buy some special plastic from Amazon. That said, it’s cheap and can be bought for just a few quid.

What you’ll need

  • Shrinkles Crystal Clear Plastic
  • Tumblr print outs
  • Sharpies
  • Safety pins
  • Glue Gun
  • Oven

First, we printed off the Tumblr graphics that we wanted to turn into pins. If you’re having trouble finding them, we suggest googling ‘Tumblr PNGS’ – it’ll bring up all of your favourite ones and give you loads of inspiration.

When you print off the graphics, you want them to be 7 times bigger than the size of the pin you want to make. The plastic will shrink in the oven, so make sure your print outs aren’t too small.

Once, we were happy with the size of our print outs, we then lay a sheet of Shrinkles Crystal Clear Plastic over the top of them.

Next, we traced around the graphics using sharpies.

After tracing the outlines, we flipped the plastic over and coloured the pin in.

Pretty easy, right? Once we were happy with how the pin looked on the plastic, we then cut it out.

Next, we put them on a baking sheet and popped them in the oven. The temperature and time you put them in the oven for will depend on the type you’re using. But look at the back of the Shrinkles packet for guidelines and adjust it accordingly.

After we removed the plastic from the oven, we flattened each pin with a book and then attached safety pins on them using a glue gun.
