It’s safe to say we expected a lot from former Disney Princess/ X Factor Judge/ Vocal Powerhouse, Demetria Lovato’s latest album. We are glad to announce that ‘Demi’ does not disappoint. Demi’s fourth album has charted the highest of all her albums, reaching number 10 on the UK album charts and we think that after her stint in London this week, the only way is up for ‘Demi’.
This LP is exactly what you’d expect from a pop princess of Demi’s calibre. The album opens with cracking lead single ‘Heart Attack’ and we are then brought on an amazing pop journey accompanied by Demi’s powerful vocals and some damn catchy tunes. The album offers some bubblegum pop in the form of ‘Something That We’re Not’ and ‘Made in the USA’ before balancing that out with the raw and vulnerable ‘In Case’ and ‘Maybe You Shouldn’t Come Back’.
‘Demi’ offers several follow up tracks to songs from her previous album, ‘Unbroken’; ‘Warrior’ serves as the sequel to the beautiful ‘Skyscraper’ and ‘Never Been Hurt’ has strong similarities to the title track, ‘Unbroken’. There are also several tracks that would be quite at home on a Kelly Clarkson LP like the rock-pop tracks ‘Fire Starter’ and ‘Two Pieces’ as well as an infectious and sunny duet with Cher Lloyd called ‘Really Don’t Care’ which is oozing with attitude and is a favourite at our offices.
No album of 2013 would be complete without a Calvin/Guetta-esque dance-pop track and Demi delivers this in the form of ‘Neon Lights’. Everything from the intro to the verses to the chorus to the dance breakdown had us hooked and it’s been a unanimous decision that ‘Neon Lights’ is now the essential party anthem here at MP! Towers.
‘Demi’ is available to buy and download now, so what’s stopping you? Go grab yourself a copy and we can promise you will not be disappointed. Or, if you already own a copy of ‘Demi’, let us know your thoughts.
