BookTuber who? MP! meets BookTuber Dark Readers: LOOKS ON BOOKS, 2014 top YA reads and her best 3 videos

Who are you? Name, age, silly fact? Talk to us!
What’s up??? I’m a random fangirl called Casey Ann. I’m 22 and I can lick my elbows (I’m not kidding. It’s rare go try it).

Why did you set up your YouTube channel?
YouTube is cool. I wanted to be part of the coolness. I love reading and all sorts of stuff so I decided as well as promote teen books on my website why not head over to YouTube and do it there. But in a cool arty way. It’s not just about books though. It’s all sorts of things! Like footage from premieres, cool book trailers and general fangirling.

What can subscribers expect to see on your channel?
Me!! But also some awesome book recommends. From hot romances to the geekiest of books. Book trailers, makeup looks BASED on book covers etc and again just random fangirling.

Tell us a bit about the BookTube community?
Probably one of the coolest YouTube communities out there. They are clever, kind, cool and have great taste. They are also supportive and are there for you a lot. So if you ever decide to do a YouTube channel on something… books is a good place to start.

Casey’s 3 favourite videos
This is hard! I would have to start with my LOOKS ON BOOKS feature. It consists of me creating a makeup look based on a book. It could be from the book cover or one of the characters. This is a makeup look I did on A G Howard’s ‘Splintered’ novel. It’s a retelling of ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

My next one would have to be a book trailer I made. UK publisher Bloomsbury hired me to create a book trailer for their teen novel ‘All Our Yesterdays’ by Cristin Terrill.

My next one would be a fangirl moment video just because it brings back so many memories! It’s the video reaction of me meeting the ‘Mortal Instruments’ cast. Now I’m obsessed with Cassandra Clare’s novels and the movie was cool so when I got invited to meet the cast I had a little heart attack. Here is my reaction haha.

What 3 books are you most looking forward to in 2014, top of your Amazon wishlist?
Oh there are so many on my wish list.

‘Shimmer’ by Paula Weston [JULY]. This is the third book is the Shadows series. The first two are ‘Shadows’ and ‘Haze’. If you’re a fan of ‘Hush Hush’ by Becca Fitzpatrick then you will love this. Hot badass angels!

‘Ruin and Rising’ by Leigh Bardugo [JUNE]. This is the third in the series. The first two are ‘Shadow and Bone’ and ‘Siege and Storm’. Fantastic action-packed teen novels full of Grisha, Russians, badass heroin lead, hot guys! Everything you could ask for.

‘City of Heavenly Fire’ by Cassandra Clare [JUNE]. Anyone who loves YA will have the same excitement as me. This is the last book in the Mortal Instruments series. This series is full of vampires, werewolves, witches, fairies, shadow hunters… any mythical creature you could think of in badass leather. It’s highly anticipated.
