We hate to break the bad news but reports have suggested that smartphones are damaging teens health in more ways than one.
We know, we know. You’re probably rolling your eyes right now, aren’t you? After all, adults moan about how damaging technology is to Gen Z on a daily basis. But hear us out on this one, okay? There’s actually some science behind it.
The BBC have recently posted a video created by Olivia Lace-Evans, which shows the impact smartphones are having on teens and it will leave you shook.
In the video, Dr Jean Twenge discussed how she’s been studying iGen – the generation born between 1995 and 2012. They’re the first generation to spend their whole adolescence with smart phones and according to Dr Twenge it’s affecting their mental health.
Here’s what she had to say…
Dr Twenge says that parents should limit the amount of time that teens are on smart phones if they’re using them more than 2 hours a day. What do you think?
