Is Cheryl about to jump on the UK Garage trend? She’s just got a club banger from a legend

We’re all here, sitting patiently, waiting to hear some new music from Cheryl.

And we’re pretty darn certain that she’s working on new music because she previously confirmed that she wouldn’t be returning to The X Factor this year for this very reason; she wanted to return to her “first love”, which is music.

Until now, most of her studio sessions have been done in secret and she’s been even quieter about who she’s been working with. But we’ve FINALLY got some concrete evidence with someone she may just be working with…

Speaking to Digital Spy, comeback kid Craig David revealed that he’s written and submitted a song for Cheryl to consider for her new album.

“I went into the studio with White N3rd – who produced [my latest single] ‘One More Time’ – and we actually wrote two songs, but one in particular I think leant more for Cheryl. It’s just a very simple pop melody over a garage tune that has the right drops in the right places without being too light. ”

“I’ve sent it over to her, so I guess when she knows what kind of direction she wants to go in for the record, she may decide to cut it. If not, then it was a really good song that we wrote anyway.”

Ooooh! We’re intrigued….

King of UK Garage Craig also revealed that he’d love to hear Cheryl on a garage track and we think she’d do pretty well with it too. Let’s not forget what she did to ‘Fight For This Love’ at the BRIT Awards back in 2010.

“I would love to see Cheryl on a garage record, just because people won’t expect it.  Also, if it’s done correctly – and I know how the track was sounding as a demo – it would bang in a club. People would be like, ‘Oh man – that’s cool for Cheryl’. She’s very versatile in terms of the different styles she can do.”
