Charli XCX has pulled out of her co-headlining USA Tour with Bleachers.
The Charli and Jack Do America Tour has already played fourteen dates in the States but the second leg has now been cancelled as Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff has decided that carrying on the tour without Charli would be “unrealistic.”
Charli has blamed a lack of creativity and feeling of isolation whilst on the road as the reasons for pulling out of the tour. In an open letter to her fans, she wrote: “These personal reasons include the fact that I need to be creative. Artists tour for a really really long time and I have been on the road for a while now, probably not as long as some, but for me it feels like an eternity. I am struggling to create whilst I’m on the road and that is making me unhappy.”
Jack Antonoff said of the cancellation of the tour: “I want to express something right off the bat so there is no confusion or room for gossip of any sorts. I love Charli. She’s my friend and I respect her as a person and as an artist.”
At least now we’ll have a brand new album and clothing line to look forward to from Ms XCX.
