We have a thing, NOT IN THAT WAY cheeky readers, with Callum and his catchy ‘1,2,3’ single so we chit chatted with him…Let’s find out more about his music, Little Mix and Piña Colada!

We are here to talk about your brand new single ‘1,2,3’ – for those who haven’t heard it, how would you describe the track in three words?
Sweet summertime vibes….I reckon that pretty much sums it up!

We’re currently obsessed with it and definitely think we’ll be playing it all summer long. Is there a song that you’ve heard this year that you know will be your summer anthem?
Yeah?? Thank you! Glad you guys are liking it! I just heard that new Carly Rae Jepsen song, the “I really really really really really really like you” tune…could not be more catchy if it tried. It is definitely going to be stuck in my head all summer!

If your music could be eaten, what would it taste like?
Uhhhh…definitely something tropical. If you could take a Pina Colada and make it into a Skittle flavour, that would be my music ha ha.

You are from Barbados, which is also the home of pop beauty Rihanna, how proud is the island of her and how well she’s done worldwide?
I can’t put into words how proud we all are of Rihanna. There’s not a person I know of in Barbados who doesn’t love that girl….she’s put our little island on the map in such a massive way, it’s crazy. She’s incredible.

Do you think you have what it takes to be come as successful as Rihanna? We do!
Ahh thank you!! I don’t know if I have what it takes, but I’m definitely gonna put everything I have into getting to that level! Can’t hurt to try eh? Fingers crossed we get there one day!

Are there any other acts from Barbados that you’re loving and think we should be aware of?
Definitely! Barbados is jam packed full of musical talent, it’s crazy. I’m sure you guys know of the band Cover Drive already, they were really successful in the UK with their single “Twilight”. I absolutely love their music. Full of Bajan sunshine, just how I like it!

You’re already getting quite a bit of attention in your native but you’ve said that you want to make sure that you’re successful in the UK. Why is it so important to you to be loved in our country?
I just really want to expand beyond Barbados. Don’t get me wrong, there’s no where in the world I love more than Barbados (although Londontown comes in a close second), but it’s tiny and there’s only so much you can do here. I wanna spread as much sunshine as I can through my music, I want to take it to every corner of the world and in order to do that I definitely have to get out of Barbados. And the UK has always been a home away from home for me with my Dad being from Manchester, I love it over there and the music scene is incredible. So I figured what better place to start?!

If you could collaborate with any British artist, who would you choose and why?
That’s a tough one, there’s so many. I think Ed Sheeran is an absolute boss….would love to do something with him one day. I reckon we could come up with something incredible merging our sounds…an acoustic guitar driven reggae jam. Channel our inner Bob Marleys ha ha.

Snog, Marry, Date, and Avoid the Little Mix girls…
Alright I’m gonna need some time with this one….Snog Leigh-Anne, Date Jade, Marry Perrie (Zayn Malik is a very lucky fella) and avoid Jesy.

Aside from music, if you could take one thing from Barbados and send it to the UK what would it be and what would you want for Barbados from the UK in return?
Rum! You guys need some proper Bajan rum over there ha ha….especially now the summer’s here! In return, if we could just have one single tiny Nando’s branch here in Barbados, I could die a happy fella. Rum for Nando’s, that’s a pretty fair trade right?

Will there be a chance for your UK fans to see you perform live here anytime soon?
Definitely! “1.2.3” comes out June 21st so we’re gonna be doing a lot of promo stuff leading up to that. We have a small tour in the works along with a load of other gigs here and there, maybe even some TV appearances! Anyone can follow me on Twitter or on Facebook for updates on everything that will be kicking off. It’s about to get very busy for sure!

What’s your favourite number apart from 1, 2 and 3?
Well, 3 has always been the one and only for me….but 7’s another lucky one so let’s go with that!

Thanks Callum, that was fun!

Handling emotions and adult stuff like Jess Day and Nick Miller do.
I'm a bit awkward but really nice. I have a turtle called Turtle and I believe in the "You should take a nap every day".

‘The Haunting of Sunshine Girl’: what are you hoping for in the Sunshine TV show?

We really love M.O’s video for ‘Preach’, if you haven’t seen it yet, here’s why you have to watch it!
